Obituary of John J. Littel

John (Jack) Littel was born in Philadelphia on 8 April 1928 and died on 1 September 2015 in Arlington, Texas. He attended schools in Pennsville and Penns Grove, New Jersey, graduating from Saint James High School in 1946. He served in the Army from 1946-1948, with primary posting in the Army of Occupation in Austria. He attended Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, graduating in 1952 with a business degree. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Massachusetts and New Jersey. After his retirement in 1986, he travelled, visited family and also volunteered extensively for the Boy Scouts and Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Littel, his wife Joan ( d, 1998), and his sisters Mary Oleck (d 2006) (Steve), Margaret Lloyd (d 2015) (Wally d 2008), and infant brother William. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his brother Thomas Littel (Joan, d 2013), and his sister Catherine Hewitt (Leon d, 2014), his daughters: Maura Catano (Richard), Regina Koeppel (John); sons: John Littel (Kathy), Christopher Littel (Eileen), Patrick Littel, Andrew Littel (Eileen), Mark Littel (Debbie), and Brian Littel (Pam). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, all whom he adored. Grampa Jack will be remembered most for his love for his country, his family, all things Ford, and his loyalty for all Boston and Philadelphia sports teams. There will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday, 12 Sept 2015, 11 am, at the Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, Pennsville, New Jersey. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:45 at the church hall prior to the mass. Following a procession to Salem, John will be laid to rest alongside his parents and sister in a family plot at St. Marys Cemetery.
