Dorotha "Dottie" Lawson, a long time resident of the Pennsville area, died Wednesday, the 27th day of January 2016 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County.
Born in February, 1941 in Long Island, Jackson County, Alabama, Dottie retired from Anchor Glass as a Quality Control Inspector. Our mother enjoyed reading, her cats, dogs and traveling periodically to Arizona while retired, as well as, living close to her family.
Dottie is survived by her sons Dr. Richard M. Sooy, Jr. and Brian D. Sooy ,as well as, her close family friend Sue-Ann Wilson. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Karen Leigh (Sooy) Arrington. Our mother also leaves behind, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Laughrey Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, S.D. 57326.
