Obituary of John R. Headman

John R. "Jack" Headman age 80 of Salem, NJ passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Born in Riverside New Jersey he is the son of the late John A. and Dorothy (Borel) Headman. He graduated from Riverside High School and worked for PSEG Nuclear for 25+ years before retiring in 1995. Jack was an avid EAGLES fan and season ticket holder for many years, proud member of the Fralinger String Band and a Mason with the Burlington Lodge. Jack enjoyed spending summers at Pierces Point, his home at the Jersey Shore, Cancun, painting, hunting, traveling, fishing, playing golf and especially spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend Mary Ann "Meatball" (Gonteski) in 1992, Granddaughter Gabrielle Marie Cross and companion Joan Behring. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Cheryl A. Chiacchio of Pennsville, Kathleen M. (Dale) Cross of Pennsville, sons John M. (Kathleen) Headman of Pennsville and Thomas R. (Diana) Headman of Pedricktown; eight grandchildren Stephen (Nicole) Chiacchio, Stephanie (Anthony) Hall, Nicole Chiacchio (Tommy), Kindle (Michael) Kuter, John 'Trevor' Headman, Kyle Cross (Natalie), Jami Headman (Shawn) and Luke Headman; five great-grandchildren Anthony and Aubrey Hall, Kaylee, Alayna and Brynlee Chiacchio; his loving cousins as well as his puppies Sammy W and Sammy B. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Laughrey Funeral Home One North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church 218 South Fairview Street Riverside, NJ . Interment will follow at Odd fellows Cemetery Burlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Jack's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
