Obituary of William S. Vanneman

William Samuel "Pappy" Vanneman age 81 went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 19 after a long illness at his home in Pennsville with his loving family by his side. He was born in Salem NJ to the late Thelma Vanneman. William graduated from Salem HS in 1958. He was a veteran of the Army and a lifetime member of the Tillbury VFW Post 253 he was also a member of the Pennsville VFW Post 1952, the Serviceman's Club, the FOP and Jersey Fitness. William went to Boiler School and graduated in 1987 he also received an engineering license and worked and retired from Atlantic Electric. He loved to exercise and walked every day at the Riverview Park while drinking a WaWa coffee and reading the newspaper. He was an avid animal lover and had many spoiled cats and dogs over the years. Survived by his caring wife Shirley, daughter Sherri Vanneman (Larry), stepdaughter Bonnie Johnson (Richard Jr) grandchildren Autumn Lloyd (Justin) Rebecca Ford and Richard Johnson III. Great grandchildren Gabriel, Elizabeth, Darla, Maisy, Myles and Datsy. Brother in laws Eddie Freas, Leon Freas (Carole) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was Predeceased by his grandparents Samuel and Bessie Vanneman, his devoted Aunt Florence Vanneman and his mother Thelma.
A graveside Military Service will be held on Saturday December 26 at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown at 11:00am.
