Please share a memory of Cheryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cheryl Strong Hagerty passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2021 at the age of 57 with her family and a bevy of friends by her side, all of whom supported her throughout her courageous battle. Cheryl was born in Salem, NJ on September 17, 1964. She is the only and beloved child of Carroll James Strong (deceased) and Joan Cordrey Strong. Cheryl lived in Hockessin, Delaware with her beloved husband Mark and her two daughters (Cynthia and Lindsey). Cheryl absolutely loved throwing great parties, dancing, going to concerts, enjoying the beach, cheering on the Vols, and spending time with her extended family and many friends. She had a zest for life and loved celebrating every and any occasion with her two daughters, her son-in-law, husband, and the rest of her extended family. Cheryl had a strong faith in God; she was an active member of St. Mary's of the Assumption and believed wholeheartedly to the very end. Cheryl loved to travel – especially to the Caribbean and most recently to Italy. Her best memory of her Italy trip was seeing the Pope. Cheryl was a woman of style, always dressed to the hilt and accessorized to perfection. She had a long career in banking and most recently worked at PNC in leadership training and development. She was involved in the Junior League in her early life and her children's schools including the PTA President at A. I. DuPont High School, as well as being a PTA member at the Charter School of Wilmington. She graduated with a degree in psychology from Lebanon Valley College and earned her Master's in Organizational Strategic Leadership from Neumann University. Cheryl is survived by her loving mother (Joan) and the love of her life, her husband of 29 years, Mark Hagerty, as well as her adored daughters, Cynthia Hagerty Rohde (Samuel) & Lindsey Morgan Hagerty. She is also survived by extended family including uncle, Robert R. Strong (Pam), her cousins Carroll and Tyler (Kelly) Strong and Angie (Charlie) Roberson. Cheryl became a Hagerty and has many loving family members on the Hagerty side including Carla Wasniewski, Cathy Thompson (Steve Constable), Ed Hagerty (Katrina), David Hagerty (Vicki) and all their children. She is predeceased by her father Carroll J. Strong with whom she was exceedingly close and has welcomed her into heaven with open arms. Family and friends are invited to commemorate Cheryl's life during a celebratory mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 11:00 AM on Saturday October 23rd where friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Prior to the Mass.
