"The memory of the righteous is blessed." Proverbs 10:7 Robert H. Jordan, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and lifelong faithful child of God, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, December 7th. Known by many names that described his relationships to family and loved ones, he lived his life to serve his Lord, his family, his friends, and his fellow man. Beloved Husband, survived by his wife, Betty J. Jordan, whom he was happily married to for over 59 years. As Betty's loving husband, he strived to love her as Christ loved the Church, caring unselfishly for her throughout their marriage. He often commented about their marriage stating that Betty was his best friend and best companion, doting on her affectionately, sharing life's joys and challenges in love in partnership. Loving Father, survived by his daughters Susan M. Myers and Bobbie-Ann R. Fordham and predeceased by his daughter, Jean L. Walls. As a family man and loving father, he patiently guided, trained, and prepared his girls emphasizing the importance of serving God and contributing to the world. He loved being a father, spending countless enjoyable hours with his family sharing his love of adventure, going on long camping trips across the country, sharing his love of learning, spending time at home, and being a good sport with whatever activities the kids enjoyed. He displayed his love, sense of humor and good-natured spirit with the kids and he could often be found playing Pinochle, a great game of catch, allowing the girls to dress him up with crazy hair, or going on long motorcycle rides. He valued preparing his girls to be self-reliant, teaching them not only about the Bible, but also about every practical skill or knowledge he could from balancing checkbooks to changing flat tires. Always interested in their lives and proud of all their accomplishments, he took his role of fatherhood seriously as provider, protector, and mentor. Devoted Grandfather, survived by his grandchildren, Alvery C. Walls, Andrew C. Walls, Katie L. Walls, Caitlin M. Myers, and Sarah E. Sloan and survived by his great grandchildren, Callan A. Walls, Aubrey M. Walls, Parker R. Walls, Andrew G. Walls, Axel A. Sloan, and Asher A. Sloan. Bob relished being "Pop-Pop", always a favorite of the grandchildren, playing with the kids with anything they enjoyed from endless games of Risk, blocks, Barbie dolls and even allowing the girls to paint his toenails and put on play makeup! An affectionate grandfather, proud of their achievements and always there to lend a helping hand. Loyal Brother, survived by his younger sister, Rebecca Noble and predeceased by his brothers, John Jordan, Charles Jordan, and James Jordan, he was a friend, protector, companion, and partner in adventure. He enjoyed various adventures and escapades from building his own boat for the river, riding his bike with John to Williamsport, PA, and partnering to create a successful snow cone business at the ferry dock. He loved his siblings and enjoyed their friendship and helping them in any way that he could to be a blessing in their lives. Generous Friend, without hesitation he was always quick to lend a helping hand in any way he could to help those in need. He valued helping his fellow man and knew no stranger in need. He supported charity projects and gave of his time and many talents in so many ways such as getting groceries for a family in need, mowing a neighbor's lawn, fixing a leaky roof, and he always stopped to help anyone stranded alongside the road. He gave of himself with a generous and happy spirit, not looking for any accolades, just the joy that came from helping others and doing the Lord's work. Reliable Worker, he thrived as an employee at DuPont Chamber's Works, distinguishing himself as a knowledgeable and capable employee. An intelligent man with an eye for detail, he enjoyed his work as a supervisor, providing insight into the operations and contributing to the efficient running of his area of the plant. Faithful Servant, striving to be like Christ showing God's love and kindness to others. He always lived what he believed, studying scripture and seeking God's wisdom for guidance. He valued kindness to others and commitment to God's work. He served others giving his time and talents and he gave to charities and mission work to help others and promote the gospel. He partnered with his wife, Betty, to help with the Senior Widow Group, lead children's ministries for many years, and served in the church in many ways, often behind the scenes doing any task that needed to be done in service to his Lord. Bob lived his life to the very end as an example of what he believed. After a two-week hospital battle, he fought with courage and strength of spirit, sharing his testimony, his love of God, and his generous and kind spirit, thanking all caregivers for their help to him and sharing many stories and witty humor. Near his time of passing, he prayed out loud, saying, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit" as he entered into the rest of his Lord. He was a remarkable man, intelligent and talented, who was a light and inspiration to others. He truly earned the words as he entered into heaven, "Well done, my good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord."
