Raymond Patrick Elwell, 74, of Swedesboro, NJ, passed away on 1/19/2022 after a valiant battle with Parkinson's disease.
Raymond was born on May 13, 1947, to Raymond S. and Margaret (Sweeney) Elwell in Salem, NJ.
After graduating from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army and served with the 25th Infantry Tropical Lightning in Chu-Chi, Vietnam.
When he returned home from Vietnam, he worked for Dupont Chambers Work, then joined the Millwright Union 1575 and retired in 2002.
After retiring he moved to the Delaware beaches and enjoyed boating, 4-wheel driving on the beach and spending time with his family and friends.
Raymond is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his only daughter Margaret Aimee (Elwell) Wexler, son-in-law Michael Wexler and their three children Connor Ryan Wexler (16), Brody Michael Wexler (14) and Evan Patrick Wexler (11); brother A. James Elwell, sister-in-law and Rosemarie (Seminara) Elwell and their two children Michael and Timothy Elwell.
Graveside services with honors will be held 3:00 PM on Wednesday January26th at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ. Friends may call Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home Pennsville, NJ prior to the graveside service.
