Manross Edward Scofield III Birth: May 7, 1982
Death: May 22, 2022
Manross (Toot) was a warrior. Although the battles he chose were never easy, he always found a way to persevere. Toot kept his number one priority in life his family and friends. He loved his partner Danielle (Turks) and his son Ross (Binks) unconditionally. He was caring, loving, ruthless, determined, and loyal to every single person in his life. He was always there for anyone in need, even when he himself needed help.
He was a man of many facets. Music and food are among a couple favorites. The lives he has touched in the kitchens he has worked in, ran, and even owned, is beyond count. His talents were no secret, and every person who knew him can attest. His work ethic, creativity, and guidance will live on forever through those people who were graced with the chance to work alongside him. His restaurants were a chance for him to show the world just that. His musical talents we’re one of a kind. Unless you knew him, his sense of humor was one you’d never understand. He was someone who could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
As a Restaurant School Graduate of Philadelphia, he was part of the American Culinary Federation competitions, and the Culinary Olympic Team where he won medals, and gained recognition for his unmatched talent. He was able to participate in a gastronomic tour of France where he gained a newfound love for food – that would later drive him and his partner Danielle to open their first restaurant together. Throughout the course of his career, he rehabbed and flipped a bar, opened 2 restaurants, consulted and took large part in launching many restaurants and startups, and constantly wanted to do more. His Last job he was the Executive Chef of the Urban Farmer at the Logan Hotel in Philadelphia.
Unfortunately, Ross’ time on this earth, was cut far too short. He battled cancer for over two years. Like the warrior he was, he beat it once, but this last task was just too much for him to overcome.
Ross is survived by his soulmate, Danielle Coulter; his five-year-old son Ross Harakas; mother and father Brenda and Sarantos Harakas; stepmother Diane Scofield; brothers Christos Harakas and Christian Scofield; mother-in-law Lisa Coulter; uncles Mark Madias, Billy Madias, David Madias, Pantelis Harakas, Tony Brumm, Howard Scofield, Jon Scofield, and Jeff Black; his aunts Lucy Black, Cindy Madias, Flora Brumm, Barbara Scofield, and Giselle Scofield; grandmother Panagiota Harakas. He is preceded in death by his father Manross Edward Scofield Jr; uncles Steven Madias and Steve Scofield; aunts Debra Madias and Janet Madias; grandparents, George Madias, Doris Fahrner, Joseph Fahrner, Christos Harakas, Manross Edward Scofield Sr. and Ella Cooksey Scofield.
