Obituary of Bernice E. Hockman

Bernice E. Hockman (Neasie) Neasie Hockman (née Bozorth) of Pennsville, died May 31, 2022. She was born in Blackwood NJ, alongside her twin sister Phyllis, on March 27th, 1923. She was the daughter of Frank and Anna Bozorth and was raised in Vineland, NJ. She attended Vineland High School and worked for many years as a sales associate at various department stores including Shoppers Fair, Murphy's and Ames. She spent 36 years as a snowbird, spending the fall and winter at her home in Winter Haven, FL. An avid lover of Mickey Mouse, she also enjoyed card club, bowling, golfing and was a ringer at Bingo! Some of her past activities included attending the annual Twins Convention in Twinsburg, OH with her twin Phyllis and camping at the Jersey Shore. She was predeceased by first husband Charles W. Brainard Sr. and second husband George M. Hockman. She was also predeceased by her sons Charles W. Brainard Jr, Robert C. Brainard, Ronald G. Brainard, grandsons Daniel W. Brainard and William J. Brainard, and great grandson Dillion S. Brainard. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Counsellor (Paul) and Denise Singley; daughter in law Mary Brainard; Grandchildren Donna McCarthy (Peter), Jeffrey Counsellor (Cindy), Charles W. Brainard III (Sherri), Richard Brainard (Kim), Robert Brainard, Christopher Counsellor (Barbara), Eric Brainard (Alicia), Darla Brainard, David Singley (Jessica), Nicholas Singley (Sharlene), Mathew Singley (Kelly); 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. And many cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Mary Grace Prestis (Ron) of Vineland, NJ. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Bozorth, and sisters Beatrice Bertacci and Phyllis Carter. The family would also like to greatly thank the wonderful staff at Lindsay Place which helped to care for Neasie over the past 9 months. Funeral services will be held on 10:00 AM on Saturday June 4th at the Laughrey Funeral Home where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service.
