Michael and Jesse, it is hard to find the words to express my feelings about Gail. I had the pleasure of working with her twice at CHILD, Inc - from 1999 to 2002 and again beginning in 2018. Her dedication and loyalty to CHILD, Inc and her colleagues was fierce. She was funny and fun-loving but took her responsibility as our fiscal manager very seriously. She was a true professional. Her love for the two of you, Lara, her grandchildren and extended family was boundless. She was happy being Michael's "partner in crime" and proud to be Jesse's mom. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. I miss our chats in the office long after everyone had left for the day. I pray that my dear colleague and friend is at peace. Lori Sitler

Gail was incredibly knowledgeable about the complex funding sources of CHILD Inc. She was also fiercely loyal to the agency and the staff who provided client services. I believe that she was in many ways the heart of CHILD Inc.
My condolences to Michael, Jessie and family.

I feel very fortunate to have known Gail. She had an enthusiasm for life, a dedication to her work, and a passion for her family. Her compassion & empathy guided everything she did, in both her professional and private life. Gail could not bear for anyone to be treated unfairly and she devoted her life to balancing the scales. Gail had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to share a funny story at gatherings. And I love how she always wore a crown & sash on her birthday. We should all aspire to be like Gail and leave this world a better place than we found it.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Gail for several years in the late 1970's. Gail was the epitome of the top-flight professional and extremely dedicated to her profession and to the mission of CHILD, Inc. While we hadn't seen each other in years, I always considered Gail a good friend with a sharp and enjoyable sense of humor! RIP, Gail!

I was very sad to learn of the passing of Gail Alliegro.
Gail was very special to Child Inc. and Child Inc. was very special to her.
She joined Child Inc. as an Administrative Assistant in November, 1975, having previously served as Martha DuPont’s personal secretary. We worked together for about 33 years until I retired and and she continued with Child Inc. until her recent retirement.
We went through hard times and good times as the agency grew. There was a period during the mid 1970’s when Gail and I were the only two people on the Administrative staff. Our sole program at that time was the Governor Charles L. Terry Jr. Emergency Shelter For Children. We became very close as the Agency developed providing numerous services to victims of chid abuse, domestic violence, their families and to the general public.
As the Agency grew, so did Gail. She became the Fiscal Manager and did an admirable and conscientious job until her retirement due to ill health.
Now she is at rest.
I am glad that I had the opportunity to work with her. She was a tremendous asset to Child Inc. and a friend.
My heart goes out to her husband Michael, her son Jesse and to her entire family who she dearly loved as they loved her.
May Gail rest in peace!
Sincerely,
Joe
