Obituary of Melvin R. Beals, Jr.

Melvin R. Beals Jr. age 60 of Pennsville, NJ passed away peacefully in his home on September 18th, 2023. Born on June 26th, 1963, Mel was the son of Melvin R. Beals Sr. and Edna Y. (Hogan) Beals. He was a 1981 graduate from Pennsville Memorial High School and went to college at Glassboro State where he played football. Mel was a lab technician at DuPont Chambers Works/Chemours. In 1993, he married Stacie Beveridge and during their 24 years of marriage, had three beautiful children Jordan, Logan, and Dalton. Mel was friends with all and loved by many. He loved sunny days on the beach, spending time at Green Holly Campground, trips to the casino, poker nights with friends, tossing a few cold ones back, and showing up to support his children. Mel was never one to miss a game day whether it was watching his kids play or his Eagles and Phillies. He enjoyed grilling, fishing, swimming, horseshoes, finding new restaurants, and indulging in his favorites like seafood and wings. The good times and shared laughs will always be remembered. Mel is preceded in death by his father, Melvin, and his son, Dalton. He is survived by his mother, Edna, his children, Jordan and Logan (Eddie), his brothers, Joe (Lisa), Pat (Connie), and Steve (Sandra), his father-in-law, Irving, his niece and nephews, Derrek, Kevin, Abby, and Stephen. Family and friends are invited to attend a church service on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at 4:00pm at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 369 Georgetown Rd., Carney's Point, NJ 08069.
