Obituary of Thomas Albert Bell

Thomas "Tom" Bell Jr, age 78, of Fort Pierce, Florida formerly of Pennsville, NJ, "went home to be with our Lord" at his home Saturday, December 30, 2023. He loved nothing more than being around his family and friends. He had many friends in both Florida and NJ whom he kept in close touch with and loved to tell stories.
He worked for Chrysler in Newark Delaware in various positions for 25+ years. He was a man of many talents including Carpenter, auto painter, sportsman. He built several houses in NJ. His final project was his beloved log cabin in Live Oak, Florida.
Tom was known for his love of horses and spent most of his life with them. He also loved playing sports, including playing football in high school as well as in the men's league in Pennsville. He also played for the men's softball league for Tom's Tavern and is remembered riding his horse Sundae in the outfield during games.
He had a strong belief in God and spent many years at Ambassador Baptist Church in Pennsville. He was known for painting the buses used to pick up the local children for Sunday school. He took much pride in his contributions to building the church including laying the brick, a skill he learned from his cousins.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Ruth Ann Rusinko (Joe), Kim Bell (Jim), and Tom Bell (Viviam); and his partner Linda Born, grandchildren: Stephanie Farmer (Brad), Allison McCord, Mark McCord (Melaina), Bobby Ecret (Emma), and Stacy Ecret (PJ), Theodore Bell; great-grandchildren: Trevor, Nathan, Gabriel, Charlotte, Isabelle, Sophia; siblings: Sharon Gant (Mike), Tootie Neeves (Bob), Kathy Mahoney (Ed, deceased), Beverly Bell, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Phyllis Bell; and siblings Jacqueline Dodd, Norma Bell and Ephriam Bell.
Funeral Services will be held 6:30 PM on Monday February 12th at the Grace Church, 50 North Hook Rd., Pennsville, NJ.
