Kathy, Nancy, Johnny, Jeffrey, Joey: We are so sorry to hear of John's passing. His laughter was as big and bold as he was! His love for Kathy and each of you boys could be seen in his eyes and in his voice whenever he spoke about each one of you. We don't know how or why God choses those to become his heavenly angels, but he sure did pick a good one to join his army. May the stories you hear and share help to slowly heal your broken hearts. Until we meet again John, May the choir of angles come to greet you. May they speed you to paradise. May the Lord enfold you in His mercy and may you find eternal life – Soaring on Eagles wings! Until we meet again. Sadly we will miss you, Mary & Bill Murphy

I knew him from Pennsville Acme for many years where I worked till I retired 3 years ago. The man did love his brisket and all his many BBQ;s. No matter how he felt he always had a smile and kind words. His excitement for living life will be remembered as well as his smile. My deepest sympathy to his family and all who knew such a kind man. At three years old, John was the first “boy” that I stood up to. I was three and he was five and he wanted to chop down the tree in front of my house. He had a hammer and I told him there was no way he was chopping down “my” tree and he said if I didn’t move, he would chop it down anyway. I stood my ground and didn’t move and he stood his ground and he swung the hammer. Boy did he get an ass whooping !!!That was the beginning of a friendship that would last 57 years. Although they moved two hours away, our families stayed friends throughout the years. We went through many good times and many bad times, but our parents as well as us kids stay together and became a family. We were not just former neighbors.
We celebrated weddings, births, well as the hard times of funerals and deaths that our families have always been there for each other.
John and I had a mutual love of Jeff Gordon, and the New York Giants. I would always feel like someone had my back whenever the Giants were playing either the Eagles or the Cowboys. My heart hurts so much for Kathy , Jeff, Joe John & Amanda and new baby Beau. While He is no longer here, I know that he and Doug have reconnected in heaven, and have fired up one massive barbecue pit. They will be serving the best brisket, the best ribs, the best everything, and their parties in heaven. I know both sets of parents will be attending and will be there to support their boys in heaven
Sending so much love to the Starcevich family - He was taken way too soon.
