Obituary of Wesley E. Dozier

Wesley E. Dozier, age 88 of Pennsville, went to be with the Lord peacefully at his home on Friday September 28, 2012. He was born in Hickory, VA and was the son of the late Joseph Dozier and Lottie Cherry Dozier Jones. He was a longtime Pennsville resident. He was employed as an Instrument Technician for the DuPont Company and was a former employee of Carney's Point, Plant 1 and later at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE where he retired in 1982 following 35 years' service. He was a longtime member of the St. Georges Episcopal Church. Wesley was a Navy Corpsmans, Petty Officer 2ND Class, attached with the 1st Marine Division, in the invasion and take over of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands during WWII, receiving the Philippine Liberation Medal in the Pacific. Survived by a son John W. Dozier of Woolwich, NJ and a daughter, Diane Nelson of Pennsville, sister, Marjorie Stephens of Pennsville, grandchildren, Michael II, Mark and Malorie Nelson, Melanie Nelson Fisher, of Pennsville, Vicki Ecret and Aimee Mugleston of OK, great grandchildren Jaidyn Spottedwolf, Journey and Alexzandrya Mugleston of OK. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years Helen Elnicky Dozier (2006), Daughter, Donna Dozier brother, Joseph H. Dozier. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 2, at the St. Georges Episcopal Church, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
