Gerald T. Lehr, of Pennsville, born and raised in the state of New York, Borough of Manhattan on the lower East Side died Saturday November 3, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. He attended School of Aviation Trades in New York City. Went on to Florida and was employed as an assistant lineman and also obtained a pilots license for single engine aircraft. Returned to New York and employed by the City of New York as a special patrolman for both Bellevue and Metropolitan Hospital civil service. He then met and married his beloved wife Rosemarie of 40 years, who was born and raised in the borough of the Bronx, NY. He Then moved to New jersey where he worked as a pipe fitter and welder at the the Salem One and Two Nuclear Generation Station out of Local 121 and 322 and becoming a member of local 329 until they merged to form Local 421 where he retired a longtime member as a pipefitter and welder. He was also a longtime member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Hellenic-Plato Lodge No. 1129 New York City. Predeceased by his father Harry and mother Susan and wife Rosemarie. Survived by nephew and godson Matthew and his wife Bernadette along with Matthews' mother Claire Jones, children from his first marriage; Diane Lehr, Gerald Lehr, Keith Lehr and Mary (Lehr) Mule, and his 9 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Monday Nov. 12, at the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Queen of the Apostles Church, Pennsville where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:00 AM prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
