Obituary of Lillian J. Whitesell

Lillian Jean Whitesell affectionately known as "Lil" by her family and friends, age 68 of Pennsville, went home to be with the Lord and her soul-mate "Jim" peacefully on December 23, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chelsea, OK, moving to Pennsville at a young age with her family. Lillian graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School class of 1961 and Salem Community College School of Nursing. Lil made her career at the Salem County Nursing Home retiring after 33 years of service. She especially enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed reading and casino trips along with playing the New Jersey Lottery. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Joseph Whitesell, Jr. on October 20, 2010, their youngest son John "Jackie" Whitesell (2005), her parents Lyle Kirk and Kathleen (Fair) Kirk, mother-in-law Adeline Whitesell, brother, Paul Kirk, brother-in-law, Mike Krough, and a niece, Lisa Snell. She is survived by her son Joseph "Jimmy" Whitesell, III and his wife Tammy Lynn (Smith), father-in-law Joseph Whitesell, Sr., sister, Mary Krough and companion Jack Toms, sister-in-law Katherine Cunningham and her husband Don, grandchildren Michael and fiance Nichole, Danielle, Kevin, and William, a great granddaughter, Dani Annclaire, Godson, James "Hog" Hofacker, Jr and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday Dec. 29, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior the service, Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
