Verna Irene Bowers, age 82 of Deepwater, died Tuesday October 15, 2013 at the Golden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Mannington. She was born in Salem and was the daughter of the late William F. and Verna Somers Wharton. Irene was a longtime Deepwater resident. Survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Walters of Deepwater, nephews, Mike, Robbie and Buddy niece, Cheryl. Predeceased by her husband Walter J. Bowers (1990).
