Obituary of Kenneth R. Coney

Kenneth Richard Coney, born May 26, 1920 went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 28, 2013 at his residence. Ken was born to the late Marie (Neidhardt) and Frederick Coney in Wilmington, DE. Ken graduated from PGHS In 1937, attended Perkeomin Prep before serving overseas as a Combat Engineer in Red Arrow, 32nd Division. He retired from DuPont in 1981 after working 41 years. Ken served on numerous boards and committees throughout his lifetime and enjoyed living on the Delaware River for most of his life. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Winifred Clancy Coney, daughter Susan Maniglia (John) of Pennsville, grandson Brian Maniglia of Elsinboro. He is also survived by a sister Marcia Coney Hosler of Columbus, OH, nephews, Steve Hosler (Mary) of Cleveland, OH, Richard Hosler (Amy) of Bethesda, MD along with great nephew Will Hosler of Noristown, PA, and great nieces Georgia Orchowski of Chicago, IL and Hillary Hosler of Bethesda, MD Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM Thursday Oct. 31, at the Queen of the Apostles RC Church, Pennsville. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville and again on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
