Frederick L. Eckert, age 89 of Pennsville died Saturday December 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of the late Frederick and Eva Eckert. He was longtime Pennsville resident. He was employed as an operator for the DuPont Carneys Point Works, Plant 1 where he retired when the plant closed. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps prior to the War. Survived by his daughter Eva F. Eckert of Pennsville and caregiver, Hermie Jackson. Predeceased by his wife Josephine Vanderslice Eckert (2003). He loved to bowl and gardening and going shopping. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday Dec. 20, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
