Obituary of Lois R. Hitchner

Lois Hitchner, age 82, of Pennsville, New Jersey passed peacefully away on Sunday, December 15th at Hospice House in Stuart, Florida. Born in Pennsville, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Hazel Robinson. Lois was a special education teacher for many years. She began her teaching career at Mannington Elementary School and later taught at both Central Park and Valley Park Elementary Schools in Pennsville. Before she retired from teaching, Mrs. Hitchner taught special education in the Brandywine School District in Delaware. Lois loved the shore in Ocean City, New Jersey and Jensen Beach Florida where she was a resident. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Penns Grove Chapter 86 where she held various offices. In Jensen Beach, she was a member of the Bocce Belles bocce team. Lois enjoyed cooking, fishing, and gardening. Lois is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Susanne and Michael Wolf, and Cheryl and Jeffrey Supernavage, brother K. French Robinson and his wife Janet, 6 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Maynard Hitchner in April 2005. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday January 3, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
