Obituary of Edward G. Stewart, Jr

Edward G. Stewart, Jr., age 52, of Sweetwater NJ, died on July 22 in Hammonton NJ. Ed was born on October 31, 1961 in Salem NJ. Ed is survived by his loving wife Cindy Stewart (nee Davenport) and his three daughters, Amanda, Cheyenne, and Savanah of Sweetwater NJ, his parents Madeline M. Stewart (nee Wood) of Forked River NJ, E. Gene Stewart Sr. and step-mother Mabel Stewart (nee Morris) of Carneys Point NJ, his brother Greg Stewart (Madalena) of Schwenksville PA, his sister Michele Galati (nee Stewart) (Jon) of Forked River NJ, step sister Lisa Martin (nee Dolbow) (Tim) of Fairmont, West Virginia , and step sister Pam Kraemer (nee Dolbow) (Bill) of Kenosha, Wisconsin, parents-in-law Robert and Edith Davenport of Penns Grove NJ, sister-in-law Kathy Hall (nee Davenport) , Bobi Davenport of Pennsville NJ, and brother-in-law Robert Davenport of Penns Grove NJ and several nieces and nephews. Ed retired from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades where he also served as President of Local 277 and as a member of the District Council Executive Board. Always quick with a joke, Ed had a huge heart and was known by everyone as the kind of man who would lend a hand or do anything to help friends or strangers alike. His passion was restoring muscle cars, building engines, and riding Harleys. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Sweetwater Fire Company, Sweetwater, NJ. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 30, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service.
