Obituary of Doreen Jean Meyers

Please share a memory of Doreen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doreen Jean Meyers, 52 of Pennsville, New Jersey passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday January 25th. She was a kind and loving person with a gentle heart and a gifted soul. Her family is deeply saddened by the loss of their beloved sister, aunt and friend. Notorious for her infectious laugh and vivacious personality, Doreen touched everyone around her. She was very beautiful inside and out. As an uplifting person, she was a great life-coach to her friends and family. She graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School and shined as a natural athlete and a standout beauty. With a keen eye for design and the spark of life, she pursued a degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She was a strong and resilient individual when she was the victim in a major life-threatening car accident in her earlier years. She was severely injured and had to undergo many major back operations to correct her spine and went through a great deal of pain in order to function normally again. As she went down the long path to recovery, she found comfort in the spiritual healing scriptures of God and found light even in the darkest hours. She was generous with her time and resources, to her nieces, nephews, and siblings; and she was a strong rock to her twin sister. She mostly enjoyed spending quality time with her family, friends and especially her furry friends, Rocky and Maggie Mae. She enjoyed watching her family pursue their talents in life and she was always a very supportive person to her family and nieces and nephews. She was always looking to the future with optimism and great hopes. She was preceded in death by her parents John Joseph Meyers Sr. and Marilyn Schalick Meyers of Pennsville, New Jersey and niece Heather Darlene Johnson of Bedford, Virginia. She is survived by her twin sister, Charleen Meyers Tawney of Christiansburg, Virginia; sister Colleen Meyers Chamblin and brother-in-law Bryan Tipton Chamblin, of Lynchburg, Virginia; brother John Joseph (Jack) Meyers Jr. and sister-in-law Arlene Nolder Meyers of Baltimore, Maryland; Niece and God-daughter Daphne Ann Tawney of Moneta, Virginia, Niece and god daughter, Allison Arlene Meyers of Baltimore, Maryland; niece, Lindsay Colleen Meyers and nephew, John Joseph Meyers III both of Baltimore, Maryland; and great-nephew Vincent Joseph Moitozo of Moneta, Virginia. Her tenacity and strength are echoed within her family members.
