Obituary of Avianna Heather Evans

Avianna Heather Evans, 3 months, passed away in her parents' arms, at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, on February 2, 2011. Avianna was born with coarctation of the aorta, which is a rare congenital heart defect. One percent of newborns are born with a heart defect, out of these, 11% are diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta. Avianna was a little fighter who underwent 4 open-heart surgeries. Her strength will never be forgotten. Avianna was born on November 4, 2010 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Avianna is the daughter of Chelsea Hogate and Eric Evans of Pennsville, NJ. During her short visit on earth, she loved her binky and wearing her fashionable bows, while listening to lullabies, cuddling with her babies, and spending time with her family. She is deeply loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed. The family is thankful for the enormous amount of prayer support from family and friends. Avianna was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Carlton and Sachiko Kiger, Theodore Mahala, Sr., and Ezra Evans, Sr. She is survived by her parents, Chelsea Hogate and Eric Evans; her grandparents, Terry and Cheryl Hogate and Ezra Jr. and Carol Evans; her great grandparents Carol Hobbs, Margaret Mahala, Joan Evans and Arlene Evans; her great-great grandfather Albert Bushnell; and her aunt and uncles, Heather Hogate, Terry Hogate and Ezra Evans, III. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 am at The Christian Life Center, in Pennsville, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service at the church. Pastors Earl and Betty Sherrick will be officiating. Interment will follow at Alloway Methodist Cemetery with a light reception at The Christian Life Center following the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for friends and family to contribute to The Avianna Heather Evans Memorial Fund, in care of Chelsea Hogate at 132 Lincoln Drive, Pennsville, NJ 08070.
