Obituary of Howard F. Outen

Howard F. Outen, age 79 of Pennsville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday August 14, 2015. A lifelong resident of Pennsville, Howard was born in Salem and was the son of the late Lee Ivester and Marie Outen. Howard was employed as a Lab Technician for DuPont at Chestnut Run, Wilmington where he retired in 1992 after 37 years of service. Deeply cherished husband and father, Howard is survived by his wife of 29 years Donna Sterndale Outen, daughter, Debra L. Tramontana and her husband Ed of Vineland, grandson Nico Tramontana and his wife Susie, and brother, Clayton Wiley Ivester of Omaha, NE. Howard was an avid sports fanatic. He spent many years playing for local baseball, basketball and football teams and could often be found at the tennis courts. He was a die-hard Philadelphia fan and faithfully watched his beloved Phillies, Eagles and Sixers. He was also an avid golfer and had the chance to play in Scotland on the Royal and Ancient Course at St. Andrews. Howard found enjoyment in yard work, golfing with his friends and spending time with his beloved family and pets. A memorial service celebrating Howards life will be held 8:00 PM on Wednesday August 19, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
