Obituary of Richard C. Hogate

Richard C. Hogate, age 78 of Pennsville died Monday February 14, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Salem and was the son of the late Richard and Laura Zane Hogate. Richard was a lifelong Salem County resident. He was employed as an electrician for Mannington Mills where he retired in 1992 following over 40 years of service. He was a social member of the Pennsville VFW, and loved spending winters in Florida, Fishing and the outdoors. Survived by his daughters, Kathy J. Boyce and husband Leroy of Deepwater, and Edna Mae Hitchner of Pennsville, brother, Frank Hogate of Dover, DE and sisters, Ethel Buehler of Oakwood Beach, Louise Ecret of Deepwater and Fran Masten of Dover, DE, companion, Eddith Hogate of Pennsville, grandchildren Richard Boyce, Brenda Hitchner, James Boyce, and Sandra Hitchner, 8 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Mary E. Ecret Hogate (1990), sisters, Mae Lapatin, and Betty Venable. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
