John H. Cooper, age 85 of Pennsville died Sunday February 20 2011 at the Elmer Hospital. He was born in Avondale, WV and was the son of the late Henry and Effie Lowe Cooper. John was a longtime Pennsville resident. He worked as a sales clerk for the Acme Market in Penns Grove & Salem where he retired in 1980 following 25 years. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Survived by his children, Loren Cooper and wife Sarah of Mulica Hill, Billy R. Cooper and wife Debra of Pennsville, Phyllis Edwards and husband Jerry of Oxford, PA, Brenda Tomidajewicz of Pennsville, sister, Virgie Chafin of Pennsville11 grandchildren,6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a daughter Sharon Weber, brother, Charles Cooper, sisters, Corey Cooper. Funeral services will be held 8:00 PM Wednesday evening Feb. 23, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, where friends may call from 7:00 to 8:00 PM prior to the service. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday Feb. 24, at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.
