Obituary of Charles W. Brainard, Jr.

Charles William Brainard "Charlie, Buster, Slim" age 72 of Pennsville passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016. He was born in Salem, N.J. and raised in Pennsville. Charlie was the son of the late Charles William Brainard Sr. and Neasie (Brainard) Hockman. He was retired from DuPont where he worked as an Electrician and Sub-Contractor for Ray Angelina Inc. for 30 years. Charlie was an avid history buff and loved to read anything that he could get his hands on. It was not uncommon to find Charlie with his nose in a book. He also enjoyed researching the Brainard family history. When not reading, Charlie loved his naps and would never let a good party get in the way! He is survived by his wife Mary Brainard, his sons Charles, Richard (Kimberly), and Eric (Alicia); his sister Mary Ann Counsellor (Paul) and sister Denise Singley; 7 grandchildren; Jessica, Dalton, Hunter, Savannah, Cole, Kyle, and Ryan, great grandson, Liam as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his son Daniel Brainard, his grandson Dillan Brainard, and his brothers Robert and Ronald Brainard Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday October 20, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the East View Cemetery, Salem.
