Obituary of David R. Wiley

David Wiley, Sr., age 83 of Pennsville, NJ went to sleep peacefully on October 20, 2016. Born August 21, 1933 in Salem, NJ he retired from Anchor Glass in 1993 after 40 years of service as a mechanic. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Wiley (nee Postell) who took her wedding vows to heart and cared for him in sickness and in health, always taking the best care of him possible. Also survived by his sister, Ellie Whitesell of West Virginia, children, David Wiley, Jr. (Rebecca), Tina Scull (Terry), Lynda Daniels (Jay), and his beloved Grandchildren Amanda, Staci, Corinne, Darren, Jay, and Nora, in addition to his doting aide, Joanne Watson, who truly became part of our family. Despite his limitations, Dave never missed going to an event for his Grandchildren and everyone always knew to leave room for Dave and his wheelchair. In addition to his love for his family, he also loved his coffee and M&M's, which were a daily part of his diet. He enjoyed driving around, talking to his friends, reading the paper, listening to his scanner, and completing his puzzles, and was a dedicated member of The Fraternal Order of the Eagle. He was extremely proud of his time in the Military and enjoyed talking about all the places he was stationed. He left a memory with everyone he met and will be missed dearly. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday October 25, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
