Wayne W. Mulford, Sr., age 80 of Pennsville died Friday January 20, 2017 at the Seasons Hospice, Newark, DE. He was born on June 20, 1936 and was the son of the late Leonard W. and Rhoda Stepler Mulford. Wayne was a longtime Pennsville resident.
He was employed by the DuPont Company and worked at the Carneys Point Works, Plant #1, DuPont Chambers Works, Deepwater and retired from the Edge Moor Plant in Wilmington in 1994 following many years service.
Wayne was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Delaware National Guard. He was also active with the Boy Scouts and was a Scout Master to Troup 76 & 82 in Pennsville. He was a Tae Kowando black belt, member, past master and Past Grand Chaplin for the Penns Grove Masonic Excellsior Lodge #54, member of the Scotish Rite, Royal Arch (Past High Priest & Past Grand Master of 1st Veil) and the Tall Cedars (Past Grand Tall), past advisor Penns Grove Chapter DeMorley and Past Patron of the Penns Grove Order of the Eastern Star #86. Wayne was also a longtime member of the St. Georges Episcopal church, Pennville.
Survived by his wife of 61 years, Verna M. Warfield Mulford, children, Wayne W. Mulford, Jr, and his wife Helen and Desiree M. Mulford, grandchildren, Corey A. Mulford, Aaron Mulford and Olivia Mulford, brother, Walter E. Mulford, sisters, Gaynell (Mulford) Pettit, Ida (Mulford) Wilson, Louisa (Mulford) Hamilton and Dorothy (Mulford) Pere.
Predeceased by brothers, Leonard W. Mulford, Jr., David G. Mulford, Oscar G. Mulford, Bruce S. Mulford, and William J. Mulford, sisters, Patricia (Mulford) Woodruff and Margaret J. Mulford.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 25, at the St. Georges Episcopal Church, Pennsville. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville. Burial will be at the Church Cemetery.
