"I remember you,
When you were still light
A breath forged from deep within the Universe;
When your shining grace still rested among the stars
And you were etched upon the heavens.
Silently you waited
In the pause between breaths,
Long before this human life began
Before you joined this Earthly realm;
Did you feel me there in the ether,
Where your essence flowed alongside mine in eternity?
Still I feel you tinting my blood somehow
Scattered like stardust in my being
Written on my skin and flooding my every sense.
The ever present mark upon my heart;
The true north that guides my compass home."
Shine on Blue Eyes!
May time quickly heal all those who know and love Vern. Prayers of love and compassion to all.

Vern and I grew up around the corner from each other back in the 70's, then learned glassblowing together in the 80's. I moved out west but ran into him several times over the years when visiting. Looking back, I have no bad memories over the almost 50 years of friendship we shared. Just the opposite actually, lots & lots of laughs! Vern was always such a funny guy and a good friend to see. You'll be missed buddy, see you on the other side!

Rest in Peace little brother Vern.
Your battle was fought with honor and courage, and now, you can take your place in The Kingdom of God, with all who have passed before you, and awaiting the arrival of those yet to come and join you.
My memories are full, of your most cherished times, and the joys of life we shared.
We will always keep you in our hearts and thoughts.
Love you always,
Your brother Bill and my wife Bernie.

Vern told me that he looked up to me, and that he was jealous of the fact that I lived on a "straight and narrow path" - which was funny to me because I was always jealous of how he lived carefree, day-to-day, moment to moment. He never backed down from a challenge. He said that he hoped that he was able to make people laugh and remember the good times. He was happy knowing that the people that knew him, were also proud of all of his accomplishments. Love you, Vern - RIP.
