Obituary of Ruth H. Flemming

Ruth H. Flemming, age 98 of Pennsville passed away on Monday May 7, 2018 at the Friends Village at Woodstown. She was born December 5, 1919 in Elsinboro and was the daughter of the late Mason and Minnie Magsam Hogate. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Salem County. She graduated Salem High School and was a member of the class of 1937. She was a working wife and mother throughout her adult life who spent 26 working years at the Salem County Community College in administration and the Library. She retired in 1992. Ruth also made many friends through her many travels in the United States and a few European Countries. She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in Salem, the NJ Educators Association, and several local womens organizations and historical societies. Survived by her niece, Joyce Sherwood and her husband Neil, of Glassboro, NJ, nephew, Sherwood Lloyd, III and his wife Pat of Carneys Point, NJ and son-in-law, Robert C. Hagenbach of Hockessin, DE and numerous great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband John J. Flemming in 1995, and a daughter, Janet Flemming Hagenbach in 1998. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Ruth in her final days. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM on Tuesday May 15, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.
