Obituary of Ronald D. Zane

Ronald David Zane, 71, of Carneys Point, NJ passed away on September 6, 2018 at his home. Ron was born April 23, 1947 in Salem, NJ to Jane Taylor and William Zane. Ron graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1965. At 19 years old, Ron enlisted in the United States Army; he served his country in the Vietnam War earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for heroic service. Shortly after returning from the war Ron moved to Vermont and married Eleanor Larsson in 1973. Ron was a member of the Millwright and Machinery Erectors Local Union 219 (Formally 1906), and worked for Pico Mountain ski patrol. Ron later moved back to his home town and married his second wife Gale Wallace. Ron is survived by his two children, daughter Nerissa Zane Sweatt and her husband Michael of Leicester, VT; son Ira Zane and his fiancé Rebecca Venne of West Rutland, VT; Four grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa Sweatt and Max and Ella Potter-Zane; his Brother Glenn Duber and wife Donna; Sister-in-law Robin Duber; niece Lindsey Gambacorta and husband Cory; and nephew Gregory Duber Jr. and fiancé Katlyn Bedilion, and great niece Ryleigh, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ron was predeceased by his wife Gale, his mother Jane Duber, brother Gregory Duber and nephew Derek Duber. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
