Obituary of Jane L. Gant

Jane Langley Gant of Pennsville passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the age of 83. She was the eldest of two daughters born in Salem to Charles and Frances (Acton) Langley. Jane was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Doris Langley Sorensen. She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward L. Gant, her brother-in-law, Chris Sorenson, Thomas and Priscilla Gant, Martha Gant Monaghan, Margaret Gant Rafine, Elizabeth Gant Atwell, Ann Gant and Harold Underwood, Francis and Sharon Gant, and James and Mercina Gant. A host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive her, as well as her dear friend, Marie Mitchum.
Jane worked many summers at Riverview Beach Park. She graduated from Salem High School and Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and then began a long career at Pennsville Memorial High School, first as a Science Teacher and later as a French Teacher.
There will be a viewing on Monday evening, November 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 19,at the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 369 Georgetown Road, Carneys Point, NJ. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem, NJ.
