Obituary of Stephen C. Saunders

Stephen Clinton Saunders, 75, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020. Stephen was born in Mt. Holly, NJ to Harry L. and Eleanor Saunders on January 2, 1945. He attended Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mt. Holly and graduated in 1962. After working for over 30 years, he retired from PSEG in 2000. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and traveling. As the true patriarch of the family, he always had valuable advice for everyone, whether we knew we needed it or not. His words of wisdom will stay with us always. Stephen also loved the Philadelphia Eagles, gambling in Atlantic City and spending time with family. His great grandchildren were the light of his life. Stephen is survived by his daughter, Susan Whalen of Pennsville, NJ, brother, Donald Saunders of Los Angeles, CA, grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) McClincy of Pennsville, Stephanie (BJ) Painter of Carneys Point, Stephen Saunders III, of Gloucester, and Cristopher Saunders of Pennsville. Seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Rylee McClincy, Bryce, Addison and Olivia Painter and Ariah and Coleson Saunders, as well as many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by Faith, his loving wife of 58 years as well as his parents, Harry and Eleanor Saunders, son, Stephen Saunders Jr., brother, William Saunders and sister, Judith Saunders Morris.
