Obituary of James Perry Sorrels

James "Perry" Sorrels, age 64 passed away early Saturday morning on June 6, 2020 due to complications from bone and prostate cancer. Perry grew up in Penns Grove and Pennsville, NJ; later spent the majority of his life in Newark, DE and retired to Venice, FL. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, community volunteer and friend who will be remembered for his kind and giving nature. He was a graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School class of 1974 – where he was elected Class President and was part of the Track and Football teams. Perry was dedicated to his work as a chemical operator at Dupont Chambers Works for 28 years. He spent his summers at the Jersey Shore and loved to vacation at "The Happiest Place on Earth" – Walt Disney World with his family and friends as often as possible. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and never missed a game. He is survived by his cherished wife of 36 years, Deborah Ann (nee Sylvestro) and his three children: Perry Wayde, Joseph James (Beatrice), and Dana Marie and granddaughter Ana Elizabeth. His parents Cecilia Dombrosky and John Marshall (Ruth); his siblings; John, Jeffrey, Mark, Michael (Terry), Sherry Jaeger and Sherry Collins – and numerous nieces and nephews. Perry is preceded in death by his brother Stephen Kyle, step-father William Dombrosky and his first wife Debra Anna Winfield. Services will be private.
