Obituary of Lois Kay Fleckenstein

Lois K. Fleckenstein, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on July 6, 2020 after a long-term illness.
Born on February 17, 1951 in Sterling, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Faris and Coleen Acklin Faris.
With her husband Robert J. Fleckenstein of 52 years she was a resident of Hancocks Bridge in Lower Alloways Creek Township for 53 years.
Mrs. Fleckenstein was postmaster at the Hancocks Bridge Post Office for thirty-two and a half years. She was an active member of the Salem Seventh-day Adventist Church in Quinton Township. She was also a former Ladies Auxiliary President for the Lower Alloways Creek Township Fire Company and an EMT for the same organization.
She is survived by her son Dr. Robert Michael Fleckenstein and his wife the honorable Mary R. Cash Fleckenstein of Hancocks Bridge. She was expecting her first grandchild, Henry Robert Fleckenstein in October. She is also survived by her brother, Duane Faris (Donna) of Mannington Township, brother, Melvin Faris of Pennsville, sister, Donna Rubio (Marshall) of Quinton, and brother Wesley Faris of Salem. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Newkirk from Kingman, AZ. She was the daughter in law of Jean and (late Charles) Emmons of Hancocks Bridge. She was the sister in law to Bertha Emmons (Bill) of Quinton, Charles "Bud" Emmons and Kathi Walters of Harmersville, and Shelba Emmons of Hancocks Bridge. She is predeceased by brother in laws Billy Fleckenstein and Barry Emmons and a sister in law Brenda Emmons all from LAC. There are seventeen nephews and nieces and several step and great nephews and nieces. Best friends Susan Finlaw of New Market, VA and Bill and Lynne Berry of Harmersville along with countless other close friendships that were made and cherished over the years.
Mrs. Fleckenstein enjoyed traveling, painting, making stained glass and ceramic crafts, and watching old movies and PBS Masterpiece programs.
As by her wishes there are no funeral services planned. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered for the Salem SDA Church at 685 Salem-Quinton Road, Salem, NJ 08079
